Was just wondering if its the fact that the word god is linked to lots of gods, and therefore differently associated, or if its a christian and/or religiuos reasons, or simply not that great a name.

Yeshua (the name we call Jesus) merans Yahweh liberates....therefore quite a common name.
It would be unusual, to say the least, for anyone to name a child God

Yes, why did Joseph and Mary, who were Middle-eastern, call their kid by a Hispanic name? It's always baffled me.

"Jesus" was not Yeshu's real name, and he was never called Jesus in his lifetime. In reality "Yeshu" and "Yeshua" translate to the name Joshua.

Gracie Slick temporarily named one of her kids "God", but later changed it.
