The NT falls flat compares to the OT. The OT has epics stories about floods and a man leading his people. The OT had excellent character delevolpment! You feel connected to the people of the OT and the God of the OT is a total badass. The NT is servely overrated. It has a cliched story about virgin birth and a boy with harry potter like powers. The NT either suffers from poor writing...More than half the stuff jesus says makes no sense. Or it has been severly edited by someone. It seems like their is a great deal missing from Jesus story maybe we will get an uncut version of the bible to fill in the missing pieces. Also the NT pushes my suspension of disbelief to the max, while reading the OT i was willing to supsene my beliefs because of the epic storys and battles but the virgin birth and a dead man coming back to life is a little to unrealistic. As I said hopefully the chruch will release the uncut version so we can see whole story. In my opinion the NT drags the OT down!

There are no "worse" parts that I know of. But remember that the NT may not even be complete. Saw a program on PBS where they are still finding, what they think are books of the Bible. And, of course, what we read today has been translated from original
and revised. As you said somethings that are Jesus quotes do not make sense. I think because something was lost in the translation. Remember that few people could read or write until well into our modern times, so much of the Bible was dictated to scribes who probably made mistakes to. And scribes and printers did the revision on orders from King James. Again mistakes may have been made there.

But overall I think the message is clear. Personally I don't read the Bible very much, a lot of useless info there that only confuses the reader. And causes people to mis-interpret the true meaning of some parts.

Obviously then you haven't read the whole OT because Elijah raises a little boy from the died. I don't see how you can't like the New Testement. The OT was the law, no one is truly able to live up to the law...which would lead to death and judgment. But in the NT we find Grace. mercy and salvation. If you don't understand the words of Jesus it's probably because your not erading with an open mind, if I'm wrong then trying buying a study Bible so that maybe you can get a little insite.

The virgin birth is possible, but Jesus is not the son of God. If God says let something be then it shall be. But if Jesus was the son of God, that would make him a God and then there would be two gods which is wrong. Jesus is the son of Mary...He has no father. Jesus was also ascended to Heaven and did not die on the cross. Therefore, he is not dead and can come back to earth...The problem with the bible is that much of it has been changed, unlike the Qu'ran which tells the truth of what happened and doesn't contradict itself in the way the bible does.

I think you just have to talk to an open-minded priest about this. But anyway, analyzing the Bible as if it were some action novel is a bad starting point. Plus, comparing Jesus with Harry Potter is a really childish thing (and I'm not a religious person).

Well, if you don't believe in the New Testament then you don't believe in Christ. The Bible was not written to tickle your ears it was written to tell us about the fall of man from God's grace and the coming of the Savior for all mankind. If you really understood the OT you would have seen that Christ is fore told repeatedly through out the OT. No one can convince a person to believe or not and the Church will not add to scripture anything new. Christ full fills all prophecy from the OT.

The new test shows us salvation through Jesus. The old test is a mere shadow of Him. It can't compare.

Some examples from NT:
Love your neighbor as yourself
I have come to save the world, not condemn it
God so loved us that he sent his only son to die for our sins and anyone that believes on him shall be saved

Love your enemies
Do not judge
He that has no sins cast the first stone
Look not at the splinter in your brothers eye while you have a log in yours
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
We have numerous cataloged ancient writings from the old and new tests. One is part of John dating 100 ad or so. He wrote it in 90 ad.
They are very accurate

Those who do not understand or accept the New Testament scriptures are said to be spiritually blinded by God.
It is all Gods Word and to reject one or the other, is to reject God Almighty. The Old Testament tells us of the coming Messiah.
The New Testament shows us the Messiah.
One must believe Gods entire message to us.
Praise The Holy Lamb Of God !!!!
God Bless Israel and America. Peace.

"...the God of the OT is a total badass" ... You're right about that. The god of the OT is a racist psychopath, actually. The OT is no better than the New.

Revelation is pretty bogus. Paul's letters tend to contradict themselves. No one knows who Joseph's father was, Luke says one thing Matthew another. But then again a lot in the OT is pretty bogus too.

I have no words left on this subject because it is clear that the Bible is a book written by men, who chose certian passages to put in the bible & they left what they didnt like out.

Christianity is not a religion brought down by God, Jesus (as) never said that his religion is christianity & he never said that his followers are christians or that his name was Christ or Jesus.
