A conversation between Srila Prabhupada, founder of ISKCON and father Emmanuel Jungclaussen, a Benedictine monk from Niederalteich Monastery. Event took place during 1974, near ISKCON's center in Frankfurt am Main, West Germany.

Srila Prabhupada: What is the meaning of the word Christ?

Father Emmanuel: Christ comes from the Greek word Christos, meaning "the anointed one".

Srila Prabhupada: Christos is the Greek version of the word Krishna.

Father Emmanuel: This is very interesting.

Srila Prabhupada: When an Indian person calls on Krishna, he often says, "Krsta". Krsta is a Sanskrit word meaning "attraction". So when we address God as "Christ", "Krsta", or "Krishna" we indicate the same all-attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead. When Jesus said, " Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be Thy name," the name of God was Krsta or Krishna. Do you agree?

Father Emmanuel: I think Jesus, as the son of God, has revealed to us the actual name of God: Christ. We can call God "Father", but if we want to address Him by His actual name, we have to say "Christ".

Srila Prabhupada: Yes. "Christ" is another way of saying Krsta and Krsta is another way of pronouncing Krishna, the name of God. Jesus said that one should glorify the name of God, but yesterday I heard one theologian say that God has no name -- that we can call Him only "Father". A son may call his father "Father", but the father also has a specific name. Similarly, God is the general name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose specific name is Krishna. Therefore whether you call God "Christ", "Krsta", or "Krishna", ultimately you are addressing the same Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Father Emmanuel: Yes, if we speak of God's actual name, then we must say, "Christos". In our religion we have the Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe we can know the name of God only by revelation from the son of God. Jesus Christ revealed the name of the Father, and therefore we take the name "Christ" as the revealed name of God.

Srila Prabhupada: Actually, it doesn't matter -- Krishna or Christ -- the name is the same. The main point is to follow the injunctions of the Vedic scriptures that recommend chanting the name of God in this age. The easiest way is to chant the maha-mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/ Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare. Rama and Krishna are names of God and Hare is the energy of God. So when we chant the maha-mantra we address God along with His energy. This energy is of two kinds, the spiritual and the material. At present we are in the clutches of the material energy. Therefore we pray to Krishna that He may kindly deliver us from the service of the material energy and accept us into the service of the spiritual energy. This is our whole philosophy. Hare Krishna means, "O energy of God, O God (Krishna), please engage me in Your service." It is our nature to render service. Somehow or other we have come to the service of material things, but when this service is transformed into the service of the spiritual energy, then our life is perfect. To practice bhakti-yoga [loving service to God] means to become free from designations like Hindu, Muslim, Christian, this or that, and simply to serve God. We have created Christian, Hindu and Mohammedan religions, but when we come to a religion without designations, in which we don't think we are Hindus or Christians or Mohammedans, then we can speak of pure religion, or bhakti.

The very meaning of Krishna in sanskrit means all attractive. Akarsana, Akrista etc... are to do with attraction. According to Vedic scriptures Krishna is all attractive due to possessing six opulences in full, viz., all beauty, all knowledge, all wealth, all knowledge, all renunciation and all opulence in complete.

God is Krishna and appears on earth in various incarnations and
sends his sons like Jesus Christ on earth. In this aspect the God and father, Krishna and Christ respectively are one since their mission is same.

Srila Prabhupada further says,
Lord Jesus Christ said that one should love God with all his heart, and soul and mind. Similarly Krishna instructs that everyone should surrender unto Him in Love. Krishna is God and Krishna says to love Him only. Therefore there is no difference between the original teachings of Lord Jesus Christ and Krishna.

Lord Jesus says (John 6:46), “Not that any man hath seen the father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.”
Lord Jesus is the faithful son of God and his Father God is Krishna, so there cannot be any disagreement between them. Therefore the Father and Son are one, in agreement.

Lord Jesus explains that he kept his disciples faithful to the Lord in His Holy Name. And the process of Lord Sri Chaitanya is the same—to keep one always in contact with the Supreme Personality of Godhead by constantly chanting the HARE KRISHNA Mahamantra, the Holy Names of the Lord.

Great people think alike , so do greta lives live alike. When you compare these great lives you will find some things in common. What is most important is that common people get solace and peace through these great people.
You must have heard about Sri Ramakrishna , who said that "I was Rama I was Krishna." He also experienced the basic truth of all religions and proclaimed that all roads lead to the same goal of self realisation.
In Hinduism there is a saying that whenever there is great Sin in Earth , then I deliver my Sons to cleanse this world.
So these great human beings are the messengers of the same GOD(God has no religion , he/she is beyond that), who saves us from the tormentors on earth and bring back the sanity and sanctity.
Do not forget to read the great religious books , where in each of them these happenings are repeated.
So , as you have understood now, all prophets, saints, saudhus, yogis , human beings are same.

The news is bullshit...

A bunch of fanatics are just trying to overdo few things. How could all of a sudden these people jump back in history and see whether they were same or not. They don't calim that Jesus and Krishna are same, but they claim that Krishna is that God that Jesus referred to. How could these stupid people forget that Krishna was a mortal avatar of Lord Vishnu, and what Jesus reffered to - 'The Father" was the supreme, what we consider as Parmatma.

We Hindus believ that god has different forms. We believe that there is god in every particle, every being. There is God in you, in me and every other person out there. Yet these fanatics, instead of treating everyone out there equally wanna create a rift by starting "My God - Ultimate God" kind of the thing again. I believe thse people are not pure Hindus as Hindus strictly believe that God is everywhere and in all forms. And if they are, they are surely gonna end up in hell for misguiding mankind.

How would you feel if people call you out with different names? Mocked up, isn't it? Imagine how the Supreme being would be feeling. He is being called out with a different name around every corner.

As it is, we are not here to find out origin of God. We have to first find out why are we here? Why did we get this gift of life?

:-)

Jesus Christ (Be Peace Upon Him) never married whereas Lord Krishna had 16000 wives. The Creator of Universe sent Jesus Christ (BPUH) as His messenger and revealed His Book upon him, to teach & guide the people. It was never so with Lord Krishna. Jesus Christ (BPUH) taught love, mercy, sympathy, forgiveness and equality of people. Lord Krishna taught people fighting & war, personally participated therein and propagated inequality among people based varnas/castes.
The real name of Jesus Christ was Eisa as Arabs still call, which was mispronounced by Europeans. Europeans pronunciation changed Dehli to Delhi, Mumbai to Bombay, Chennai to Madras, Quahira to Cairo, Masar to Egypt, Shaam to Syria, etc. Yet the real original names are not changed by locals. Lord Krishna was confined to Hindus of Hindustan (India) only unlike Jesus Christ (BPUH) and both are quite different persons.

God YOU jesus Freaks!!!

You try think about this Try this

Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, gives thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).

2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.

3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.

4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.

5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.

6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all; the honor of one is the honor of all.

7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.

8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.

9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget you’re most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.

10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.

11. Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction.

12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.

No, they are not the same person. As for finding Jesus' tomb, there is only one and it's EMPTY. His bones are in his glorified body which is at the right hand of the father making intersession for us.

No they are not the same, maybe they stood for the same sort of principal. Maybe neither ever existed! George Harrison sang of this topic in his triple album. Hare Krshna. Very spiritual.
