There's this guy that I occasionally walk past on my way to work. A good friend of mine used to work with him, and a while back, in a nightclub with this friend, this guy was there and my friend introduced us and we said hello. I commented that I walk past him sometimes on my way to work. Anyway, since that night I've walk past him probably 3 or 4 times - the first 3 times he looked, smiled and said hello in a really friendly way as did I, but the last time I was about to walk past him I smiled, he looked away and completely ignored me with his nose in the air!! I felt so silly! He definitely saw me, we were 3 feet away from each other! I don't even fancy the bloke, I just can't understand the way some people behave!! Maybe I'm too sensitive.....??!!

To Carolina - that's what I thought - that he thinks I fancy him when I DON'T and doesn't want to give me the wrong idea! Maybe he's egotistical as well as ignorant!

To nutsy - yes I do think! I'm a naturally friendly, smiley person - that's why I don't understand how people can just be so plain rude, especially when they've shown friendly before.

And who's gone through all the answers and put thumbs down??!!! It's not me! Just someone else who's "stupid"!!

He's just silly, rude and immature just like the person who went through your answers and put thumbs down on all of them.

If he says hi to you the next time say hi back to show that you were brought up with manners and if he doesnt say anything then you dont need to.

No, I don't think you are too sensitive. Maybe he thinks you like him since you walk by him so often and are always saying hi and he doesn't want to encourage you. Whatever his reasons were, his behavior was childish and he needs to grow up a bit. I would just ignore him until he makes the next attempt to say hello.

I think ignorance is a lack of knowledge. Ignorance is also the state of being ignorant or uninformed. Ignorance is often misinterpreted as a synonym of stupidity, and is as thus often taken as an insult, when really it is, in its correct form, not an insult at all but a criticism.
While stupidity is the quality or condition of being stupid, or lacking intelligence, as opposed to being merely ignorant or uneducated.

Don't take his ignorance to heart. He might just be a bit shy. Perhaps he doesn't know what to say to you.

Perhaps he is thinking that you fancy him and he has gone all shy or isn't interested! OR he could just be IGNORANT.

He may be rude & unpleasant but this is not reserved for ignorant people.

Clever people can be rude & ignorant ones can be polite!

Some people are just so rude. I work with someone who refers to me as "she" or "her" just born ignorant. I don't think your too sensitive you just have manners - takes more effort to be rude don't you think? :)
