People choose not to see the hand stretched before them. They believe they do not need God's help in their lives, and many end up leading lives that are filled with sin. Others don't believe in God, and they lead lives of humility and give to the needy, but they do not think of what is to become of them after they die. God is loving and has given everyone a chance to be with him in eternity, I can't see why people would not want to acknowledge a loving and almighty God.

Weird, even the Bible states that man can not fully comprehend God... yet, here you are pitying people because they don't comprehend what you do? Besides, you aren't comprehending God himself.... you only comprehend what you have read about God. Otherwise you wouldn't be so condescending towards those of different belief.

You can't claim to comprehend God (which is said he IS Love) and treat others as if you have none.

I believe it was written in the Bible that God is beyond human comprehension. I guess that means we are all sad. And if God cannot be comprehended, what makes you think the one facet of God that you see is the only one? I would think He would appear to each person in a way that person could understand. He may appear through the words of Mohammad, Buddha, or Confusius, depending on how a person of that religion can understand Him.

Sort-of. I think it's sad to see so many people that believe that they CAN comprehend God. In my view (I'm Catholic), if God does exist (I'm being open-minded either way), then He would be so advanced an entity that no human would truly ever be able to come close to comprehending anything about Him.

2007-03-01 01:00:58 · answer #4 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Depends on what you mean...If you mean the inability to comprehend YOUR God, then no I disagree. If you mean the inability to comprehend ANY God then yes I agree. I'm not so egotistical as to believe that MY way to God is 100% the only way...but I do believe it is a valid way. Everyone should have the right to find the path to a higher consciousness in their own way. As long as they are going down some path, I support them.

Edit: JayDee, your ego is way out of control on this. Just read your edits. You border on being obnoxious. Why would anyone want to embrace a religion that breeds that kind of contempt for others? Please, don't try to help me! I definitely don't want THAT kind of help.

No, nothing sad about it. If God wanted to make the subject to be easier for us, I am sure He would not hesitate to do so. But then, comprehending God is not a subject that should be easy; master craftsmen don't go about creating shortcuts for apprentices, do they? They may just create half-baked craftsmen!

Your questions poses an intrinsic biblical fallacy.

It was impossible for Paul, yes Paul to totally comprehend God.

Now is it sad to see so many people on their way to eternal death, Yes.

However, comprehend God and to be spiritually alive are two very different things.

And you, the grand wizard, can comprehend God? what makes you so special? Religious leaders and scholars have tried and failed to comprehend God for thousands of years. Thank the heavens that you came along to help us poor innocents. So tell me, wise one, what is God?

What is sad is that people who do believe in God and people who don't believe in God can be so disrespectful to one another on this board.

2007-03-01 00:49:59 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Our society has tried to teach people that God doesn't exist. My heart cries for the many that do not believe. Someone once said "I'd rather live my life as if there is a God and find out there isn't-- than to live my life as if there is no God and find out there is" Food for thought.
