It's not up to the airport what ID they will accept at the check-in, it is down to each individual airline.

New photocard driving licences are high up the list for acceptability (not old-style paper licences), plus usually some other official proof of age photo ID such as the CitizenCard are acceptable, whereas some airlines allow you to fly domestically with a recently expired passport (within the last six months). Utility bills or proof of address are sometimes acceptable. It all depends who you are flying with. Check their website or ring their customer services desk and ask.
