my cat sucks on his toe and it bugs me is their any thing i can do to make him stop he is about 1 and 1/2 years old . i thought about putting thum on it (this is a liquid that you can put on children to stop them from sucking on there thumb) but not sure if it is safe for a cat

I had answered this question before and I had to take my cat to the vet. (she had to go for shots) I asked him about why a cat would do this & He said he just had to amputate another cats toe because the cat had cancer in her toe. The reason her owner brought her in was because the cat was sucking and chewing on her toe. The vet said that to suck and or chew on a toe,or tail is something cats in the wild do by instinct. They will do it until the toe will drop off. Please get your baby to the Vet.A.S.P.!!Good luck with your cat. Please take this seriously!

You shouldn't use anything with cayenne pepper. My vet said that the cat could accidentally get it in his eyes, etc. If anything, something like Gannick's Bitter Apple. But talk to your vet, maybe his toe needs to be checked out

my kitty cleans his toes by sucking on them....sometimes there is kitty litter caught in there. We use the clumping kind, she tries to get it out.

lol...my cat is an obsessive cleaner. It grosses me out! I spray her with a little water every time she starts.

he probably has allergeys take him to the vet and they will give him some ointment and an antibiotic!
