1. Since land-based plant life can not survive in an aquatic environment, especially salt water, what happened to all land-based plants during the flood(i.e. trees, bushes, grass) particularly Red Wood trees?

2. Unknown to people in biblical times, an exrtemely important relationship exists between plants and organisms; the exchange of O2 and Carbondioxide exchange. Given this fact, shouldn't ALL humanity have perished regardless of an Arc?

3. The polar bear and many other animals are only equipped for Arctic environments. The panda bear has a diet that consists only of bamboo found in remote areas in China. How would these animals have survived the trip in the Arc and then deboard the Arcs final resting spot?

4. The ferocious komodo dragon's closest prehistoric relative from the same geographical region, Indonesia and Australia, was the megalania: a 4,300 Lb. and 23 Ft. lizard (basically a dinosaur). How would these prehistoric creatures have survived a global deluge?

This ought to be amusing.

I really love pandas, and I shared the PandaCam site (for the National Zoo) with relatives. Some of them were genuinely upset because one blog entry mentioned pandas evolving in a different direction from other bears millions of years ago! The hell of it is, it should be blatantly obvious, as they don't look like other bears, hibernate like other bears, eat like other bears, etc.

These are just my opinion, by no means am I a religious expert, I am just trying to find logical explaination to the questions, and BTW I do believe in the flood.

1. Firstly you are assuming that the flood water was salt base, the water may have come from a freash water source, so mentioning salt water in your question is a HUGE assumption. I think (and I can only go by my opinion) that these plants would have died out, but the seeds of these plants would have survived to germinate into new trees. Seeds may have floated and be able to survive long enough to cause the trees that we see today.

2. It may be true that there is a relationship between plants and animals, but what you are doing is trying to find an explaination of a RELIGIOUS event based on SCIENTIFIC knowledge, IMO the two don't mix. In a religious perspective, if the flood came because of an act of God then obviously the rules could have been bent by God to allow the lives in the Ark to survive. In a religious perspective, God made the rules so God can alter them as he sees fit.

3. Polar Bears and Pandas and in extension all living organism ADAPT to the environment that they have to live in. The animals we see today would have adapted to their specific environment, so maybe (again this is just my opinion) polar bears are only called polar bears today because they adapted to living in that environment, they would not have started out as polar bears they would have just, over time, adapted to that environment. In other words you are assuming that they started out as Polar Bears.

4. I can't say much about this one (as to give a possible explaination) but what we do incorectly is try to find an answer to religious questions, using scientific research....they just can't mix. If science has traced the Komodo Dragon back to the Megalania (which is just an educated assumption) then use that info in science, you can't ask religion to explain why it doesn't tie in with what it teaches.

The Flood was an old Babylonian/Sumerian myth that was adapted to suit Hebrew Audiences. To see it as anything more than a myth woven into the bible seems to me to undermiming any kind of 'love' that God would have felt towards creation.

He created it once why would he not be able to preserve it or cause it to grow again as the water receded. Ever been to the Asheboro zoo in NC? they have polar bears, outside. Why put God in a box? man is the one who doesn't know how to create life from nothing, God knows, has known and will know how forever. Faith is the answer either you have it and believe or you don't. The choice is yours.
