I weigh 100-104 I am 14 and I am about 5'4 1/2. I normally eat just one thing at night...dinner, or soup, or a sandwhich or something, But I have been sick so I have been trying to eat 2 meals a day. So will i still lose weight. If I eat oatmeal in the morning and soup at night?

Don't eat anything 2 hours before bed eccept a glass of fat free milk or casine protein shake. eat your biggest meal before your busiest time of the day. And eat more often 5-6 times a day, but totally the same.
Here is a shortened version of a basic complete system I came up with for my clients to help with weight loss along with some basic understanding:

Eat six square meals a day, smaller to the proportion you would eat normally so your eating the same amount or just slightly higher or lower. This opts to obtaining the most metabolic structure for processing for into usable substances rather than sitting in your stomach and being converted to fat.
Watch what you put in and on your food and make sure what you are eating is organic. No added salts, sugar, no high fructose corn syrup (converts directly to fat instead of being used for energy as regular sugar). No MSG's (stops digestion) the more you do these things the better. I was eating at McDonalds almost every day for lunch and still lost because of the rest of this.
Eat fresh grape fruit (not juice) before each meal and Oolong tea (green teat can be supplemented but with less effect) four times a day.
Run first thing in the morning when glycogen is at its lowest stores, before you drink or eat anything. Start the day with 10 oz. of room temp. Distilled water. Drink distilled water throughout the day (distilled water does not have chlorine or fluoride of which shuts down digestion and is bad for electrolyte balance and parasite defense.)
Eat your largest meal with most fat content before the most active part of your day, (usually morning before work, unless at an office job).
Don't eat two hours before bed. Consume fax seed oil and cuisine protein directly before sleep. (Caisine is the slower digestive protein that will last all night to heal from the day. Found in nuts, peanut butter, certain protein shakes, or 4 oz. fat free milk would work as well)
Low carb. Protein before work out, high carb snack or drink while working out and sugar protein directly after (insulin receptors are creating an anabolic effect for first 20 minutes after a hard workout and will use sugar as a healing regiment.
These are the basics without going into a book about the body and functions of anabolic, catabolic and metabolic structures and how each receptor and hormonal diversities consolidate with each other.
I'm sure you have also heard muscle burns fat, which is true, but muscle also adds pounds which is why most dieting structures don't say to gain muscle and they are actually having you lose muscle while losing the fat, because they care about you seeing the results so you'll stick to it. Which is good for people who need to see the results, but not for those who can wait, cause if you build muscle first, the fat will shed off allot quicker and you'll get toned instead of just thin. How ever the process will take longer, but will be healthier.
If you would like a more personalized approach a lot more info would be needed. A lot on the best way to achieve your goal is on a psychological level of what you can handle and what you need to see to keep yourself motivated. Which is why a good personal trainer that knows what they're doing and that can really get in side your head would be helpful. It's too bad there aren't many around.

You can forget all about your dieting you simply follow and do these yogic exercises every day and your problem is solved.:-

1. Arathamathesendrasan (reduces the folds on the side)
2. bhujangasan ( reduces the fat & creases on the back)
3. halasan ( flexes the muscles & reduces the creases)
4. dhanurasan ( flexes the muscles & reduces the creases)
5. sarvangasan ( controls the whole body to perfection)
6. mathsyasan ( increases the chest & reduces the stomach)
7. nauli kriya ( the best for stomach)
8. mayurasan ( very difficult but best for the belly )
9. bhastrika pranayanam ( breathing exercise, very best and must as this controls BP, prevent lung diseases, increases the brain power, will never get cough or cold and controls your anger and other violent emotions, brings in crimson complextion to the face etc, etc)
10. sevasan. ( This is the last exercise and this removes all the stress and strain of all the above exercises )

Do all these exercises every day in the morning before breakfast and after nature calls because both your stomach & intestines should be empty while you do this . Do it regularly for 1 month with confidence and see the magic.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

You need to eat more! A bowl of oatmeal and some soup is not enough to keep your metabolism fueled. Or your immune system! It's only a matter of time before you get sick eating like that.

You're 14 years old, you only weigh 100 pounds. You don't even need to think about weight, but you do need nutrition! If you don't get enough of the nutrients you need in the next few years of your life, you will end up with osteoporosis when you're older, and you may never reach the adult height you're supposed to.

Please, ask your parents to schedule you an appointment with a nutritionist. They can explain to you what you need to eat to be healthy, and to maintain a healthy weight.

That's pretty much starving yoursef. You need to eat eggs and toast for breakfast with a little bit of fruit.Eat a yo-gurt for lunch.Eat chicken(not fried but grilled) with peas and corn or broccoli and corn with orange juice or water or a smoothie(that you or someoe else made not at a resturaunt) for your drink. That's only if you need to lose weight, you really don't. I'd say you should gain a little more weight.About 8-10 pounds. Build up your muscles by working out and eating the stuff I listed up above. Also play ddr if you have it!

i don't know about oatmeal helping you lose weight, but i know it is good for your cholesterol. and don't think that since you are 14 that you are okay. i was 21, and found out i had high cholessterol, and i didn't care at the time. well two years later it shot up, but now i have a strict system on my breakfast. i eat oatmeal every morning, and my cholesterol has dropped 20-30 points, which will prevent heart attacks in my future.

starving yourself will- like you have realised only make you sick. you should eat around six SMALL, HEALTHY meals a day. This is because the human body naturally stores fat no matter who you are. so when you only have two meals a day it will save as much fat as it can because it's not sure when it will receive it's next lot of nutrients, causing it to store. but if you have a regular healthy eating habit it wont have to store, as it knows its next load of nutrients isn't to far away. Hard concept to grasp but true!
Good Luck!

You are severely underweight. The fact that you think you should lose more weight means you are suffering from a life threatening condition. You need counseling immendiately
