I live in a ground floot flat that does not have a phone connector on the wall. One of the flats upstairs has had NTL connected.

Who do I contact to get a line installed to the flat and how much will it cost?

you will need to call each operator to get a price but I know that BT can be quite expensive if you havent got a phone line already!

Only they can give you the current prices so I would call them and see.

If you want the cable service you must contact NTL (now Virgin). Note that only Virgin broadband will work with it. Other ISPs ask for a BT line.

If you want an ordinary phone line call BT. The installation cost would be £124.99 unless there's already a line in place.

Extra info - if you don't want anything except a telephone service then consider sticking with a mobile.
Calculate your usage pattern (who you call, time of day etc) Some of the networks offer plans that will be very competitive with Land Lines when you consider all costs (installation and line rental).

You have internet access somewhere, so search for the deal you like and phone or e-mail the company and ask for a conenction. Their contact details will be on the website or wherever you get the quote from

Check your Yellow Pages for suppliers in your area.

With BT it's 124.99 including VAT if no previous service at the address.

Hope helps.

If you get it in flat, BT can post it through your letter box instead of knocking on the door.
