Yes! I am a writer and I too suffer from writer's block from time to time. The worst thing to do is to do what we both are doing now...Killing time and creativity by playing on Yahoo! But there really are some things that work...Here are some of the strategies I use to get my muse back--Because a muse is a terrible thing to lose--Sorry couldn't resist:
1. Since you are writing a script...try a change of scene...Physically go to a public place that most resembles the scene your are writing now...Just go there...Sit and write down the dialogue you hear around you. It won't exactly fit into the script, but it will help to get the log jam moving.
2. Get a kitchen timer and set it for 15 or 20 minutes...Then just write ABOUT the scene that you are having trouble getting on paper. It is likely that this will not actually be the scene...It will be about the scene...This will help you unconscious mind connect with you to let you know why you are getting stuck...
3. Get a friend to read scenes that you have under construction...Record the reading...Yes, likely it won't be the best acting in the world...But when you play it back you will get a better idea of how the scene will flow...how it will sound...Not just how it looks on the page.
4. I am a little reluctant to suggest this, but you could check out this site:
http://www.explorewriting.co.uk/ScriptWritingCategory.html
It has some excellent but general advice. The problem is that you don't want to spend your time researching what you should be writing...You actually want to BE writing...So use research sources sparingly...
Finally, best of luck....I guess it does little good to know that you are not alone...But almost every writer has experienced exactly what you are experiencing now...Just keep plugging along and WHAM it will easier...I promise!

I am a writer. I have never suffered from writers block but then I never write but always type my scripts etc. on the computer. Whereas some of the other people here are saying it's bad that you're on here I would argue that it is a good way of finding out about other people who you may like to write about. It's research!

getting over writers block is the best thing ever because once you're over it, your writing gets waayy beTTer. The way I get over writers block is just to write whatever comes to my head, no matter how sTupid it may seem. It's better to have ideas that you can see rather than having a blank slate. You can work with ideas but you can't work when there is nothing there to work with. The best way to reach a point of imagination is to observe real situations around you and then tweak them if you want. Once again, the best way to refine is if you have ideas that you can see (either on paper or via real life). Best Wishes...and if you're religious...just ask God to use you as a medium to chanel thoughts and ideas

I also write scripts. When I can't think of something I go away from my work for a day. Then I go back and think of exactly what the play needs. Does it need more comedy or does it need more pazzaz. Think what the play needs. Other things that help are things around you. You need to make sure that your play is interesting. I believe you can do it.

stop worrying about content. write until you have finished your story. if you are blocked, wait for inspiration in down time , but don't wait for the perfect avenue. take the first idea and go with it. in essence stop trying to be great and write an OK story. read Kieth Johnston's book impro and learn what a secret story is. too much presure dude!!
