You meant insulators, didn't you?

In case of electrical insulation, insulator is a material that can not conduct electrical current.

If you mean sound insulation, it's a material that can soundproof a certain barrier, for example, a wall in an apartment,.

There is also water insulators, thermal insulators and many more types of insulation, all of which are designed not to allow some kind of substance or energy pass a certain barrier.

did u mean insulators? there are 2 kinds: electrical and thermal (related to heat conductivity)

electrical insulators: materials that do not allow the flow of electricity through them (eg. plastic and wood)

thermal insulators: materials that do not allow/ greatly slow down the flow of thermal energy (heat) through them
