I think Ricky Hatton is one of the best boxers this country has ever produced. And he is a down to earth type of guy. Never really had much time for Calzaghe.

Jeff Lacy was no bum, Calzaghe is the real deal. Hatton got Kostsya Tzsu (blogbaba isn't big on spelling so forgive the ZOO spelling error if a mispelled the name of one of boxing's elite) to quit on his stool, so you might have to give Hatton a slight edge over Calzaghe in the opponent creditability department. That said, with all due respect, Ricky isn't even close to the best pound for pound.

The blogbaba disagrees with you on the pound for pound ranking. I don't take anything away from Hatton, I just don't rank him as high as you do.

Ricky Hatton is a very good tough fighter but I would not say p4p the best. I think that you underestimate Joe Calzaghe as he has beaten the likes of Chris Eubank, Byron Mitchell, Charles Brewer and Jeff Lacy. To say he fights bums is a bit harsh as your man Hatton is guilty of just that. I'm not knocking Hatton but he is as guilty of what you say Calzaghe is. Imo Calzaghe is a better p4p fighter than Hatton. As much as I like Hatton I can only think of a handfull of top opponents that he has fought.

neither hatton or calzaghe are pound for pound the best fighter. hatton is a good fighter, but Collazo was robbed in the decision against Hatton, and after that gift decision Hatton went back down in weight to jr. welterweight. He new that if he had such problems with Collazo how could he come close to Magrarito, Cotto, Williams, or Pretty Boy. Hattons division is also very weak.

Ricky Hatton is an excellent fighter but I don't think he is the best pound for pound boxer today.

This honor goes to Manny Pacquiao. He has a 3-0 win loss card last year against no less than former world champions -- Erik Morales (future Hall of Famer) and Oscar Larios.

Floyd Mayweather could have been the best pound for pound fighter but I think he does not have notable opponents last year.

Not at all. Calzaghe is awesome.
he won a fight 1 handed
beaten the likes of eubank and jeff lacy
and been world champion for 10 yrs
when hatton has done this you can call him the best pound for pound fighter

I think Ricky is better than calzaghe. But not better than Floyd Mayweather. He is definatly in the top 5 pound for pound though, maybe even 3.

he's greater polished than Hatton. He would not have the heart like Hatton. Hatton at this suited ought to take an fighters heart. i've got yet to be certain Khan try this. we will see how he's that if he gets interior the ring with Alexander or Bradley. those adult men are fierce, and that they are very solid. Khan's ability must be there, yet his own self assurance must be there too.

Calzaghe is the better of the two. But doesn't seem to be in any rush to fight outside of the British Isles. At least Ricky is taking his shot at greatness by fighting in the States against better competition.

OK NOW RICKY HATTON IS A NICE FIGHTER BUT BEST POUND FOR POUND IS KINDA FAR FETCHED. YOU CAN'T TELL ME YOU THINK HE BELONGS ABOVE FLOYD MAYWEATHER. EVENTUALLY THESE TWO WILL MEET AND I GUARANTEE YOU HE WILL DESTROY HATTON. I KNOW FLOYD'S A LIL COCKY AND RUNS HIS MOUTH ALOT BUT YOU GOTTA UNDERSTAND HE'S A BORN FIGHTER FROM A FIGHTIN FAMILY AND HE'S WELL MORE ADVANCE THAN MOST OF THESE FIGHTER BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT IF HATTON COULD BEAT SHANE MOSELY HE'LL GET A LIL MORE RESPECT FROM ME AND GET ON THE TOP TEN FOR POUND FOR POUND.
