Not "how soon" Its "how Long", and that depends on "how quick" you send in the correct info. So the sooner you apply, the sooner you get it back!!

Not sure which type of visa you mean but if its just a tourist one you take your passport into the travel agents with you when your booking your tickets and its done straight away via your passport number, I assumed you would have an actual piece of paper for a tourist visa but no its just done via the computer.

It depends on the type of visa.

If it's a one year tourist visa, ask your travel agent, or whoever is supplying your tickets. They should be able to apply online and get authorisation in minutes.

You can probably do it yourself, actually, on the Australian Government's Electronic Travel Authority System ....

By post, it takes 7 to 10 days, but if you want it sooner, you can go to Australia House in London, and get it the same day. Take your birth certificate and passport with you, and proof of your address (utilty bill etc.)

i know my friends brother took him over 6 months to get visa and he had to prove he had somewhere to live and work look into all the facts before u apply.
