Puppy...frisky and noisy. Old Cat....suave and sedate. The best thing to do is just have plenty of perches high up where the cat can go to escape the little whippersnapper and just let them come to terms on their own. Give each one plenty of attention and that's about all you need to do.

As long as they can both get away from each other easily, they'll eventually learn to tolerate each other, old cats are usually upset when new pups or kittens show up because they don't like to be bothered by hyper babies. Give it time and it'll work out.

Most of the time, animals will get used to the animals, after they come to realize that the other animal is not going to go anywhere!
Good luck and be patient, don't force them to like each other, let the cat and the dog come to terms by themselves. It will turn out okay, just relax and BE PATIENT!!!!

I have more than ten cats in my house and a dog but they're good friends all they need is time, when they get to know each other they'll even start to like each other,u don't have to do anything but try to avoid conflicts.good luck!

I wish I knew. We have a kitty and my huby's brother just got a little puppy. He insists on bringing her over all the time so the two can become friends. DOGGIE likes it, but KITTY does not. Have you ever heard a kitty GROWL, wel mine does. SHE actually bit my husband and then me and drew blood. She is not happy and hates this puppy. Both my hubby and his brother inisist they can become friends. I HATE it and I am so stressed about it.
