Probably not. In fact, I'm not sure I agree with your dentist putting you under anesthesia for a tooth extraction anyway. It has huge risks. Some people never wake up. Are you willing to take that risk over a tooth?

Now, I'm not saying that anything will happen to you, just that the risk/benefit ratio is way off for anything less than having an impacted wisdom tooth removed.

If it helps, I've had a couple of baby teeth pulled in my life, and it's really not that bad. You can't see the novocaine needle, or even feel it, since they use a topical anesthetic on the spot they're going to inject. It doesn't even hurt.

I'm no expert, but a couple of weeks ago I had 3 teeth pulled. It took about 10 minutes. I was awake. They used Laughing Gas to make me sorta unaware when the put the needle in my mouth. All it felt like was someone pinching you. But, I'm only a kid and my teeth didn't have roots. You could possibly take the teeth out at the same time. :)

It would seem to be the logical thing to do, but it may be that the ones your orthodondist wanted to take out can only be done by him/her due to their location. It's the same with wisdom teeth. They don't remove them at the dentist anymore, and instead you have to go to hospital. I would ask your dentist about this, as obviously he/she will know more. Good luck with it though!

Yes - They can knock you out and grab all the teeth at once. It's Ok to tell the denist you want it done that way and it's Ok to tell him you are scared. Your paying the bill and as such have some say on your treatment. Just make sure you have someone around, after the procedure, to drive you home - your really going to be out of it.

Since you already have a dentist's indication for a complete General Anaesthesia, it will be ok to remove the other teeth for ortho treatment, as long as the dentist performing the op is willing.

sure, but then what if they give you the wrong gas and you can feel them taking out teeth but you cant do anything about it because you paralysed with fear? or what if you dont wake up from being knocked out? see this is why i dont go to the dentist.

well...I had to get 4 of my teeth removed....it was really painful because they gave me 8 injections on my gums!!....most painful experience of my life....they had given me anaesthesia..a spray all over my mouth....it was terrible..pain was reduced and I was awake...but yet...it was very painful....depends on how your orthodontist does it....good luck!
