Hopefully she'll shorten the usage don't to Lily - I don't think double-barrelled names are very nice for a child. Individually I think both names are nice. At least the baby has a choice of three different names to use if she wants to change it when she gets older - but if she's a tomboy I think she won't like her mum calling her Grace!

Lily-Grace might be really special to her in honour of a relative or something.
No matter what you call your children someone is always going to say er no you should called her... You should just be pleased for you friend that she has a happy healthy little girl and at least she has been more original than people who name there kids after current celebs, 60 years down the line we are going to have a generation of Granny Brittney and Grandpa Romeo now that is bad!

I also have a friend who named her baby Lily Grace. Either it is the same baby or this is a popular name.

Get a sword, cut the baby in half, and then one half can be called lily and the other half could be called grace.

Lily Grace is nice. I would not spell it with a hyphen though. More importantly, you should support your friend. If the decision is already made, don't be negative about the baby or the baby's name. It's not your decision.

These old fashioned names seem to be very "in" at the moment. I have a friend who called her baby Grace and I think it's a lovely name. Lily Allen is also a very popular singer at the moment and you always get babies named after pop stars and sports stars.

This must be one of the most popular names at the moment. There are 3 in our village school and a few Lily-Mays attending the same school!

What do I think about the name? A little fussy but bottem line is that she has picked the name so you need to be quiet about it unless she solicites your opinion!

I think over time you will grow comfortable with it and forget that you never liked it. I have had friends that named their kids names that weren't my favorites either but the names don't seem weird over time and I like them now. They work for me now!
