advice and help on medical matters. So many of us come on here and ask some very specific medical questions perhpas hoping for an answer that will help them with a medical problem.

And when we get medical advice do we follow it up or do we go to seek further advice from a medical professional?.

I am as bad as anyone asking medical questions on here, but I always seek proper counsel as well.

What do you think; Do you ask medical question, if so what do you do then?

Personally, I have a very over prescribed local practice so seeing the doctor has to be a last ditch attempt and just hope I get an appointment!

I normally ask on here just to see whether people think it's something serious or something that will clear up/can be ignored. If the general consensus is to see a doc, I'd defo go, but if it's something that seems pointless I won't bother unless it gets worse/lingers too long.

I guess I'm just a very thoughtful patient! Just hate the idea of wasting a docs time for nothing. I know how it feels to deal with time wasters!

So if I ask a medical q I normally see a doc if I still think it's an issue otherwise I get on with my life :o)

when u have the Internet, what reason is there 2 ask on here 4 advice?
4 various opinions of how people have coped & the support u can receive, makes sharing stories on here very beneficial.
but 4 conclusive medical advice i'd go 2 my GP.
whether i actually get the help i'm looking 4 seems 2 depend on the NHS budget constrictions & b4 now i've left the Docs surgery none the wiser!

I think that people ask medical advice here because there will be a much bigger range of experiences and answers. If you ask on yahoo you will get loads and loads of answers whereas if you go to a doctor you will get one. I think people just like to get a sense of what might be wrong with them before they seek medical help.

I propose that the better shrink for contributions be carried out away with, and that the utmost payouts in retirement nevertheless proceed to be as they're, adjusted for inflation. Social protection isn't a "supply away" application yet one that all of us make a contribution to love a chit expenditures plan, and can be shielded from different makes use of by the government. Do you compromise or disagree and why? while you're so demanding approximately it then why do no longer you; first positioned it back into the indoors maximum sector and make to have been no can take out money from it for his or her own pastime, 2nd pay back each and every penny you have borrowed from the two Social protection and Medicare, third take the unlawful immigrants off of it and people who come over here yet by no potential paid a penny to it, and ultimately have it the comparable for each man or woman; in different phrases government officers are to take part in it and in the event that they desire something greater they do it on their own without the tax payers investment it?yet, the financial stytem feeding the imbalances had by no potential been extremely replaced. They, a team of scholars, reported that each and all and sundry expenditures of pastime may well be 3% or much less for each man or woman to grow to be rich if wanted (that must be real additionally to taces). the suited financial difficulty may well be, they reported, whilst there have been no expenditures of pastime. Why no longer attempt this answer? the rich might nevertheless be rich. My question is: whilst soial protection turns right into a difficulty linked to federal charges, why no longer artwork with a balanced or earnings funds and spend no greater desirable than is presented in, as any relatives has to attempt for? Why no longer ban all loobying presents as a fashion to get regulations that serve the rustic? God bless us of a of america.

But seeing a doctor is so much trouble.

You have to set up an appointment, if they will even give you one, then wait in thier little wiating room for an hour, fill out a stack of forms and haggle with your insurance company just to spend five minutes with a doctor who is likely going to tell you wot you already know and perscribe some medicine that doens't work.

This is so much easier.

if you have a problem, you can come onto answers and get a cross section of answers - some knowledgable, some stupid, some useful, some not-so-useful - but will at least put your mind at rest

on the other hand, you could call you doctor's surgery (only between 9.00 and 11.30 or 1.30 -4.30, in my case) you could explain your condition to an untrained receptionist, who will use her 'best judgement' to give you an appointment which may be as much as 1 week later.

which would you prefer?

I was at the doctors straight away with my trousers down asking for advice, why give a s h i t? drs are used to it and if you need advice, then you go get it!
