Wow. There are some who really get worked up about the idea of banning mayo. Is there nicotine in mayo or something?

Chill world. I am not proposing the banning of oxygen, or mustard, or People magazine - you know the important stuff in life.

Port Mahon.....perhaps it's unpatriotic for the British to consume it. Thanks, I always wondered about the origin of the name. :-)

Personally, I've already banned mayonnaise consumption because I don't like it. Blech. I know it's a problem at picnics and potlucks because of the egg yolks and danger of salmonella. I

No, it shouldn't be banned. I do think however that people who want to tell the rest of us what to eat and not eat should be banned. Go run your own life and quit trying to run everyone else's life. This is why I can't stand those on the far left. Too much big govt. rules. And that goes for Republicans that act like Dems. As an independent I am more and more leaning towards the Constitutional party.

By the way, what happened to all of the money from tobacco taxes and billions from lawsuits? It was supposed to go towards health programs and also education. So much for that. No more banning of cigs., mayo, or any other food. What is next? Beer? I know they won't ban wine, because Nancy Pelosi makes too much money off of her vineyards in Napa Valley. Boy, now there is a person that deserves the douche bag award.

I know what mayonnaise is . I have made a lot of it by hand. What I don't know is why you seem to feel it should be banned. If you're angry because after having tried a long list of food products that claim to be aphrodisiacs you still can't score , the fault of course lies with you not the product.

You may personally ban it but not everyone should. You don't realize the many things that mayonnaise is in. I love mayonnaise and here's a tip for all of you cooks:
When you're making your basic cornbread recipe, add a big heaping tablespoon of mayonnaise to the mix. It will add moisture to your cornbread and it will never be crumbly again. (Don't worry, you'll never taste it!)

Mayonnaise is eggs, oil and lemon juice. Why ban any food?

well if you think like that, than you should plant your own veggies, have your own chicken for eggs and your own cattle for meat. you should also close your area with glass so that there wouldn t be any contamination from the outer world... and make sure to make the soil yourself, either by eroding stone or by making bio soil...
