I have a sore spot about 3-4 inches above my bellybutton, and about 3-4 inches to the left of my bellybutton (from my perspective), on the inside.

It doesn't hurt all the time, but it does feel very sore for at least a few hours of each day.

I don't have a doctor here, and it will be a couple of months before I can get to one.....

any ideas? If it's an ulcer is there anything I can eat/avoid that will help?

I sometimes feel nauseous too.

You may have strained an abdominal muscle and it which case it will settle with time. I doubt if this pain you feel is being caused by an umbilical hernia, but it could be a possibillity.
If the pain hasn't lessened in a couple of days refer yourself to the A+E unit.

This could be a hernia, or as you say, ulcers. Until such time as you can get to see a doctor, eat quite bland food, and see if that makes a difference, but get to see a doctor asap

definitely not an apedics problem.. should be on the other side if it is..

anyway, if i am rigt i used to feel the same aching whenever im tired or exhausted, not sure if the immidiate resting (sitting down) has to do with it. mostly this happens to me after playing basketball..

as long as you cant feel any bluge in that area, and that you never felt that after consuming anthing thats kinda normal..

my doctor told me that the closer to the belly button you have your pain the less serious it is, have you ruled out IBS, it sounds like the area of your bowel. Could be that or maybe a bit of a blockage causing the discomfort.

Hernia? you may have a slight lump that you can push in or it may be appendicitus if its a sharp pain. See a Dr for proper advice though.
