A Pentecostal christian prays in tongues, usually preceded with a short blurb about what everyone will be praying about and then the leader just keeps yelling stuff over the top of everyone else as it comes to mind.

- Asker - feel free to email for further convo - I grew up Pentecostal. Please note I am not a Pentecostal now but I will endeavour to keep my answers light and unbiased - I really leaned a lot in my youth there and am happy to share. My mum was/is what they call a prayer warrior so I spent much of my younger years sitting in the corner of prayer meetings until I was old enough to join in.

the Pentecost takes place the seventh Sunday after Easter. commemorating the emanation of the Holy Spirit to the apostles.

Including:
Assembly of God Church
~ A modern Pentecostal revival. Formed in the late 1800's unique in its ideals of the "baptism in the Holy Spirit" and accompanied by speaking in tongues.

Christian Center
~ I believe its a Pentecostal church. They use revivalist methods to achieve experiences comparable to the experiences of the first Christian converts.

New life Fellowship
~ Evangelical Pentecostals, (observes the rise of the Holy Spirit to the apostles) Originally the Bethel Temple missionaries in Indonesia, eventually arriving in New Zealand in 1942.

Hello JAMES C.. :)

When you read the Book of Acts..it will describe how every believer should worship the Lord..All the gifts are for today..as there in no Scripture that says otherwise..forbid not to speak in tongues..lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.. :)

We should all be led by the Holy Spirit, who teaches us all things..He guides us, comforts us and is our advocate..

I attend the Milton Assemblies of God in New Hampshire..It is a Pentecostal Church..though I am not Pentecostal..

You do not have to be Pentecostal to be filled with the Holy Spirit..

Just a believer in Christ.. :)

May the Lord Bless you and keep you and your Loved ones safe in His Loving Arms.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

I have been petecostal since 1990. I wouldn't have it ANY OTHER WAY !!! First you should believe that God is real & the Bible is truely sent from him ( written by his servants ). We also believe in ALL of the gifts of the Holy Spirit--including being filled with the holy Spirit & speaking in tongues. Start by reading the first 5 books of the new testament---Matthew,Mark,Luke,John,& Acts. When you pray just tell God what is in your heart. Talk to him like he's your best friend (because HE IS). Talk to him like he's sitting right there beside you ( HE IS, you just can;t see him ) !
I hope this helps you. Take care. Curtis

Wheelchairs, pushing people down, running back and forth like a ravaging lunatic while screaming in "tongues", and, swindling money from the elderly.

"Give the Lord another round of applause!"
