1* What you do outwardly that people see, is your reputation with people.

2* What you do and think inwardly that people do not see, is your reputation with God.

NOTE: {Good works alone will not get one into Heaven according to the Bible. One's inward person plays a huge role in how God views & judges us in the end.}

Interesting thought Jewel. Most everything I do, that I know God smiles upon, comes from within and I do it because I feel called upon by God to do what He wants. There have been many times that I did things outwardly that I chose to do without His guidance and in almost all cases, have paid the due price. I believe that's our free will which I also believe is our choice. However, I'd much rather do what God calls me to do. At the end of the day, it makes sleeping a lot easier. Living here on earth in our bodies to me is like a large classroom where we are constantly learning. And yes, I believe that good works alone will not allow anyone into heaven as we know it. Those types of people are usually the ones who love to boast about what they did for whomever, to gain self pride because they were really weren't concerned about the outcome of what they did. Maybe it was because they wanted an addional tax deduction or whatever. I think you know what I mean.I have learned that some of the greastest friends/people I have come to know, don't get public recognition. I believe they do it out of pure love, and love only and I believe that is from God.

God knows that I do what I'm directed to do. So that would probably indicate that I have a good reputation with God. But only God knows for sure. If God is unforgiving of when I was young and didn't even believe in God, or if God holds a grudge against me for the times I messed up, then I could be mistaken.

Some things aren't easy, especially when people are involved and even more especially when people who believe in God are involved. They tend to be the most judgmental of all, especially when someone who claims to be able to talk to God comes around. They get down right nasty. So it's a little difficult to have a good reputation with both God and people......currently.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Jewel,
This is a wonderful Question!! I read, study, and attempt to obey everything that GOD has told us to do each and every day. I know there are times that we all sin and I pray daily and ask HIS Forgivness for those sins. I am a people-person. I listen more than I speak. I attempt to help others as I can and I would give the shirt off of my back to others in need. I have three children and one grandchild. They are very important in this world. It is our job to instruyct them in the ways of GOD and man. GOD must come first! I believe that Christ will come at the time that GOD has chosen and judge each and every one of us according to the Testament that was in effect when he/she lived. We have the obligation to study GOD's WORD even after we become a Christian to be certain that we are following HIS COMMANDS. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!
Thanks,
Eds

Jesus is my reputation with God.
In Him alone is the One, God is well pleased with.
He is my mediator before the Father in Heaven.

There is nothing that I can do that will change the outcome whether good or bad. I may fall and stumble many times, but the mediator just picks up the slack and pleads my case before the Father.

I don't think God even knows that I exist, so I have no reputation with God. I am the same on the inside, as I am on the outside, so what you see, is what you get, as far as people goes.

Well neither are particularly great in my case. I don't shut God out of anything I do be it good or bad. He has changed many things in my life and will change many more. I may never be Godly or a great person but I won't be a stranger to God.

God shall judge both the inner and the outer. God hates a hypocrite.

How can you have a reputation with a fidgement of imagination? Wait, I mean a literature character.
I might as well have a reputation with Gandalf, but then again, at least the character of Gandalf was partially inspired by Odin.

I like your theory, and I do not think it is about hypocrisy as someone mentioned above. Because you ( I mean all of us) have to care about both the in- and the out-side of your life. for me, your theory is about this: caring and respecting people, myself and god (if you beleive)
