i was once a smoker, i've already quit. I perceive thats the psychological urge of "filling" yourself with something(assume that u've started smoking) rather than the physical urge. its more like a routine, after a nice hot meal u light up a stick, u take a walk at the park, u light up a stick, after having a cup of hot coffee u light up a stick again, i mean day in day out, after a year or two u get caught up with the routine of lighting up a stick. i had no problem quiting, i just told my self that was it, the end of my last stick, i'm not going to let this little SOB to write the final chapter of my life. no pathces no gum no inhaler etc

Because everybody, everywhere is addicted to something. Some addictions are dangerous and some are not. I don't know why people choose to smoke however as it is gross and stains your teeth. But given the choice between a fat guy and a smoker, I'd take the smoker.

It is an intoxicant and gives the smoker pleasure initially they start smoking just for the fun of seeing the smoke coming out of the mouth and the smoke rings they are able to create and since it is an addiction they cling to it and are unable to leave it even though they know that it causes cancer. very unfortunate indeed.

ive smoked for 10 years off and on, it doesn't seem to have any addictive effect on me. i find it relieves stress and has a calming effect - thats why i smoke. Anyone who has a problem with it can kill themself for all i care i don't worry about their personal business.

if we are the majority....why are we the ones that have to change?
I like to smoke....if you don't...start your own restaurants and bars with no smoking so we can keep ours...you want fresh air...you go outside so I can stay inside and smoke where it's warm/cool.
