i am really sorry but i am sick of hearing people say that its either impossible or you cant have you period while you are pregnant....

when i was prgnant with my first child i was 16 and i had my period all the way through my pregnancy until i was 8 months and it was spot on every month i never skipped a period and it never came late or early
i am now pregnant with my second child and even this time i had my period until i was just over 2 months
the reason i am bringing this up is i see alot of post where people are saying that if you have had your period youre not pregnant etc

It is possible to have your period when you are pregnant. I spotted for the first 3 months with my second child at the time that my period usually was.

I have a good friend who is now 50. At 44 she had a 16 year old son and had been on birth control pills since the birth of her oldest son. She started gaining weight and had just not felt herself for almost 5 months. She finally went to the doctor thinking she was in the beginning stages of menopause since her period had slowed a bit but not much. Nope!!! SHE WAS 6 MONTHS PREGNANT!! Her husband initially thought she had been hiding it so that she could have another baby. A lot of her friends didn't even believe her. But she continued having a somewhat normal period through the whole pregnancy.

It's not typical but it can happen. Girls need to take better care of themselves, meaning using protection. Getting your period isn't always the sign that you're not pregnant.

Good question. And good idea to bring it up!!!

You cannot have a period and be pregnant at the same time. Unless you have two wombs/uteruses and that is *extremely* rare. I have no doubt that you bled your entire pregnancy. Lots of women experience bleeding when pregnant. It is not that unheard of. You probably mistook it for a period like most women do. A period only happens when an egg is NOT fertilized. When it is not fertilized you shed the uterine lining and thus have a menstrual cycle. If the egg IS fertilized you do not shed the lining because the baby needs that.

I also get tired of seeing this question because it amazes me how many people do not know how a menstrual cycle actually works. People CAN bleed and think it is a normal period (sometimes it even happens around the same time each month) but it is not a *real* period. If it was, you would not be pregnant.

No, I've never had a period while pregnant. I have 3 kids.

I have heard that some woman have a period during pregnancy. It doesn't always mean you are having a miscarriage like most people think! Some woman have their period for a few months and then it stops, and some woman have their period all thru the pregnancy. Depends on the woman I guess! And the baby turns out perfectly normal, no problems/complications due to having your period during pregnancy!

Some people just don't know!

I had spotting when I was pregnant. It came around the time my normal period should start last a few days and go away like clockwork every month tll I was about 30 weeks along. I didnt even realize I was pregnant until the smell of bacon( mmm love bacon)made me sick, I was two months along still having periods. so anyway yes you can still have periods and be pregnant. bleeding dosent always mean there is something wrong, my son then and now and I are as healthy as can be.

It's nice to know you're not the only one out there who's gone through the same thing, isn't it? I had my period for 7 months straight, was on birth control pills regularly before I found out I was pregnant...thank God my daughter was born healthy as a horse! The only reason I found out was that I started having sharp pains in my side, went to my doctor, who felt her head and told me to go to my ob/gyn. Was i ever shocked!

You do get you periods while pregnant, I know a few people who have experienced this and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them or the babies. What did your doctor say coz if you not OK about this you need to ask him or her.
