Tyson would have annihilated Cassius Clay. He was a beast in his prime who was unstoppable.

How man times do we need to go over this question? The answer is normaly the same - Cassius Clay would've worked Tyson. Tyson was too one dimensional in his skill set. Ali wasn't one dimensional he was able to

1. Stick and move
2. Take a punch
3. Clinch and fight close
4. He had power
5. He could out think you.
5. Counter-punch

Tyson normally did one thing:

1. Come in and try and just flat knock you out.

Wow, this tough.

But I will go with the raw power of Iron Mike Tyson against the all-around boxing skills of Cassius Clay.

Cassius Clay for sure. It's the difference between a pure puncher and a boxer with great skills who could also hit! The boxer will prevail every time.

Mohammad Ali (as Cassius called himself after objecting to the Vietnam war) although never as great as his former self would have beaten Tyson 2 out of 3 times.

Tyson never had to face anyone who could take a punch like Joe Frazier or could hit like George Foreman.

Tyson never had to face a guy like Larry Holmes in his prime either.

Tyson would have had a hard time with any of them.

Remember what Cassius did to the invinsible Liston in 7 rounds In his prime tyson wouldn't stand a chance. Clay was to quick and coordinated in those days

I am old enough to have listened to Clay's first fight vs. Liston and have seen most of the subsequent fights.
I watched most of the tyson fights.
Although Tyson was, flat out, a beast in the ring Ali was a Master. Ring tactics, ring management and psychology Ali was the BEST. If the two, at their peak, could have met, My money would have been on ALI.
He was and is the CHAMP

Ali no doubt whatsoever. He fought at a vintage time for heavyweights - Liston, Frazier and Foreman and all the others. People forget that Liston was a more terrifying prospect than Tyson before Ali fought him as Clay. Ali had longevity; unfortunately Tyson quickly went wrong, so his prime was either short-lived or he never actually reached it.

Despite being the the best of all time I still fancy Foreman rather than him (Aly).

Tyson is the kind of boxer to fight against before you say to yourself you're a boxer. He never liked to win by points but always made sure he won bu K.O.

So I can tell you the in form Tyson would knock out the inform Aly before the the 5th round.

Thanx!

Cassius Clay was Muhammed Ali at his best, and Tyson is a fireplug like Frazier was. But Ali has more brainpower in his jockstrap than Tyson has anywhere, so I think Ali- who was also brilliant defensively- would've been sly as a fox, played him like a fish, and then clubbed him like a baby seal.

Tyson would beat Clay at his best, but Ali (who was known as Clay before he became Ali) would beat Tyson without a doubt.

Tyson would win. I know a lot of people would not agree. But I really don't think Ali could stand the rush of Tyson. Watch there old fights. Tyson would not come up the middle like everyother person that fought Ali. He would be comming in side to side. Ali would'nt be able to set himself to take the blow.
