I'm doing a project and saw that some guys (in suits) only buying a sandwich for lunch in M&S. I would have thought they'd need more than that to fill them up.

At my old restaurant, the food was sort of free. I mean, I know how much I paid for it in the first place! I've never gotten free food at any office/factory work. But when I was temping doing banquet serving, we servers would get to eat the remainders of whatever didn't get served. I've had some excellent free food that way just from doing an easy job! Free caviar is always a bonus.

When I worked for Foodmaker, a subsidiary of Ralston Purina, they gave us free lunch because they knew it stopped employees from taking the food they were making. I worked quality control so I got to see a lot of what was going on, on the line.

That being a food plant, that was a commisary for 1000 restaurants, was the only place that ever gave away food.

Sometimes if there are left overs, but it's not regular enough to be able to rely on it. I usually go to a local cafe and have a sandwich, but I must start making my own lunch and bringing it to work, it's just not appealing to do that though.
