Often when a cat starts going outside the box, it's a sign of a health problem . she might have a UTI, and associate the resulting pain with the box. So the first step is to have her checked out by a vet.
Next, you need to clean the area behind the tv with an enzyme cleaner - that's the only thing that gets the smell out to the point where the cat can't smell it anymore - and as long as she can still smell it, she might go again. You can get enzyme cleaners at most pet stores, some brands are Nature's Miracle, Petastic and Anti-Icky-Poo.
Further, are you sure the box is clean by you cat's standards? How often do you change the litter completely?
Speaking of litter - did the kind of litter you use change? If so, maybe she doesn't like the new type. Did anything else about the box or the room it's in change?
Also, very many cats do not like to urinate and defecate in the same spot. Some cats will do it for a long time, and then suddenly decide they won't anymore. (My cat was 2 when she made that decision.) In that case, you simply need a second litter box. (Actually, the rule of thumb is one should always have one more box than cats, anyway.)
Hope this helps - good luck! :)

Try putting her litter tray there. Or use pepper. But not too much because cats can only breath through their nose. My last cat had a problem like that, I found out that she wanted attention and needed a home with people in it 24-7. If its not attention then try the litter tray or Pepper.
Gud luck

this is going to sound silly but half fill a 2 lt drinks bottle with water (so its too heavy to be moved by your cat) and put it behind the tv cats like space to wee and if the space behind the tv is taken up by the bottle she will not be happy and comfortable enough to squat. also ive heard ordinary household cleaners smell like wee to cats so if you clean the area with washing up liquid etc its a invitation for her to carry on weeing there just clean it with water very regulary

I support many of the answers, but another suggestion I was given when one of mine started peeing in the wrong place ( one wooden floorboards so the pee would soak through the gaps in the floorboards ) would be to serve her food in that area for a while. Cats like to keep food and toileting separate.
Also sounds like it's a nice little confined (private) area - any chance you could open it up a bit.

It's a territory marking thing...
...I've read that they don't like anything 'zesty' so if you use the peel of a lemon and rub it on the area you want them to stay away from.. they'll stay away as they can't stand the smell... and with it only being the skin and zest.. we can't really smell it so you wont have an annoying lemon smell in the house
Good Luck

there ate good sprays you can get from most pet shops, spray and get off is good - not sure if it for indoor use, worked with my dog. they don't like the smell of it so the avoid the area. You will need to clean the area very well, as they can smell that they have been there before, and so think it is ok to go again. alternativly get a water pistol at the ready!!

Once a cat starts this it's really difficult to stop it. Try disinfecting the area REALLY WELL - as it's the smell that's attracting her back to the same place.

Quite probably because your TV puts out an RF energy field (heat) and so is a comfortable warm place for your cat! look out if she is ever having kittens!

She goes back there because to her it still smells like a toilet.
Try covering the area with tin foil, cats don't like to put their paws on that but be aware she might go somewhere else.
