Thank USA, no the reason for the question was it was on a quize show over here,and that was marked the correct answer which I found strange.That is why I asked...... You mean distance between DC and California? Around 3,000 miles I think...
I have just checked on a website: the distance between Washington DC to San Francisco is 2840 miles (= 4580 km).
