The colour of the sky diluting into grey, the sound of rain drowning everything out, no thunder no lightning, just the smell of rain on asphalt. Then maybe a call from a loved one.

The smell of nature, especially when it stops raining and the sun shines. The thought of my gorgeous little nephew when he gets so excited to see me again! Thinking about all the nice things that have happened to me recently and will happen in the future. Having something ready, to look forward to. Being thankful that all the people i love are in good health and happy. A good joke, some good music, a good book. Just thinking how lucky I am to be alive right this minute. (I get unhappy sometimes, but these things always make me feel better!) Be happy, rain is good - it makes the flowers grow. It keeps us alive. Just think about those people who don't see enough of it. They would - literally - give their back teeth to see rain.

I just remember the blistering hot, dusty days from my year in Iraq. I wished for dull, dreary days then. I make a point of getting rained on every chance I get.
