When I lived there we used to describe the Cayman Islnds as next to Jamaica and just below Cuba. Another good way of describing its location is to take that long peninsula jutting down from Florida and to track its course through the sea past Hispaniola. You can find out much of what you want to know on that site.
It is a British Overseas Territory and consists of three islands: Grand Cayman, where most things happen, and the so-called "sister islands" of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

The Cayman Islands ( Three islands Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, Little Cayman) is lcoated in the Carribbean just 500miles south of Florida!

If you look on the world map, and find cuba (below florida) it is to the left halfway between cuba and mexico. are you thinking of going? it is beautiful. have been to Grand Cayman several times, great for shopping and snorkelling! (not at the same time)
