The engine is so silent and I want to do something to raise the V8 noise. What shall I do? Shall I remove the catalytic converters?

It's not the cat. It's the MUFFLER (and/or resonance chamber/pipe).

Removing the cat will VOID your warranty, not to mention trouble with the law!
