I bought an MP4 player from EBAY and they never sent me the correct cable / adaptor to download and charge the device. They are not replying to my emails so the only option is to buy a cable. The MP4 player isnt branded (its a cheap 4gb ipod nano look-a-like).

Does anyone know what type of connection this is, or better still where I can buy one from? Ive been to local computer shops, markets, maplins, pc world currys etc and no one can help.

take it to a shop that deals with that type of equipment and they should be able to tell you what the correct lead is.

Go to the manufactures web site and order the cord. Any electronics manufacturer has a wed page that you can order from. If it has no name on the device then use the model number or any number you can find on the MP4 to find the manufacturer. If it came with an instruction book the web addresses will be towards the back.

Not sure, but it could be a 6pin Firewire. If it is, most computer/laptops only have a 4pin Firewire connection, but you can buy a 6pin - 4pin adaptor for about £10.

It is called a mini-USB plug, usually used for small devices like MP3, Bluetooth headset. If you go to electronic gadgets shops you should be able to find one.

That looks like it needs what is known as a Female "B" USB cable end, also known as a Receptacle "B".
