Yes!! for Anxiety & Panic Disorder, Depression & Trauma Counselling, first visit was HELL, i was haveing anxiety & panic attacks, but as time goes by it gets easier to go (plus my meds are helping to), Yes!! it was worth it, & they were very nice & understanding, bending over backwards making sure they dont push me to soon to get out & about, just whenever (I"M) ready to take those steps.

Yeah, it was for depression. I just argued philosophy with him the whole time because all his reasons for not being depressed were completely unfounded in logic and it bugged me... Then he thought I was going to kill myself because of that and I ended up locked in the hospital for a night before I convinced them that wasn't the case. BAD idea! I went to another psychologist at some point and the same thing happened because they really couldn't give me any real reasons that made sense. Uh minus the getting locked up part, I knew better what not to say that time! Not useful at all in my case...
If I had had some weird sort of unconscious issue that I couldn't quite understand myself it would have been more helpful. But because I actually had good reasons for everything I was thinking it wasn't. I guess I wasn't really crazy in that case though, psychologists are for crazy people right? :P

Yes. I have been to a psychologist when I was 12 years old to get evaluated because one day in class I choked my self with my jacket and they wanted me to get evaluated. If I didn't get evaluated it would go into my record. It was my first time going to a psychologists and my first visit wasn't a bad one. He asked me a series of questions like "What did you eat for lunch today"?, "Who is the president of the United States"?, "Are you on drugs"? etc, etc. The psychologist was very nice and wasn't hard on me at all. The reason I choked myself was because there was this boy in the 8th grade who kept bothering me and I got so angry I choked myself. I have a tendency to try to hurt myself when I get mad but I would never kill myself because I have my mother to think about and I wouldn't want to leave her hurting because I killed myself.

yes, several times for:
*self injury
*depression
*stress
*post trauma stress disorder
what i've found is that if you let them help, then they do, if you dont want help and wont take any of it it, then it doesnt help
also if they are not talking about what you know is really important, or something you already know then it doesn't help.
i like all the pictures they have in the offices that are supposed to be 'relaxing'
you also need to find a theripist/psychologist that you 'click' with
good luck

Yes. I was treated for Severe Arachnophobia.
I was very apprehensive on my first visit but it was worth it. My heart was seriously affected with the condition but after 6 months of treatment I was able to deal with my phobia and get on with my life.

When I was younger....and in school.... depression and stress.... was the reason I had to go....I didn't like it .... but that doesn't mean it is all bad.... I found out that you have to be care full who it is that you go to see because if they don't know what they are doing they can mess with your head......I would say....give it a chance and see what your gut tells you
