Do not color your hair before a perm. As a Hairdresser of over 20 years. I can tell you the perm will strip from 50%- 90% of your color. Also if you use a color that has an activator or peroxide in it, than your hair will be doubled processed. First with the color second with the perm. Some perms are specially designed for colored hair but they still damage your hair more than if you have no color at all. Once you put a permanent color in your hair it is permanent until it is cut out so there is no such thing as you haven't colored it for 3 months. Unless all the color is cut off, then you still have color in your hair. Same goes for re perming unless it has all been cut off you still have perm in your hair That's why it is call a permanent wave.

You always want to schedule your hair color service after any perm service in order to ensure that your color stays true. The neutralizing step of the perm service uses hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent to reform the disulfide bonds of the hair and the oxidation that occurs in the hair can lighten and otherwise distort the color of the hair, especially if it’s artificial color.
Generally, speaking as long as the hair is in good condition, you can proceed with color at any time after your perm service. However, most salons and stylist will recommend a little bit of time between services to allow the hair to “normalize” again. I suggest at least a week or two in between, during which time you should focus on conditioning the hair to rstore the moisture balance and reseal the cuticle layer.
The one-to-two week break between services can also help to keep the cost of your hair services spread out so as not to tax your budget unnecessarily.

Best to get your hair permed first, then wait a week to have a colour put in, puts too much stress on your hair otherwise.
Their are instances when you have a perm at the salon when semi permanent colour is put in with the neutraliser, but I wouldn't recommend you use a permanent hair colourant straight after a perm. unless it is this procedure better to wait the week.

I perm my hair first. If you color hair and then perm it the color will be lightened by the chemicals in the perm.

I don't color or perm my hair. Have a good look at older women, some movie stars who color their hair they curse themselves because the chemicals eventually kill the roots then baldness. Is this what you want? Then good luck.

sure. i'm getting mine colored sometimes whilst i bypass in to have it decrease. i attempt to bypass with organic-finding hues, like countless hues of brown. One time it got here out darkish pink. It appeared very nicely, even yet it soooo wasn't me! Had it dyed in basic terms final weekend. that's a medium-darkish coloration of brown with some low-lights. seems far extra useful than until now.
