Ready to pay close to 90 % tax plus what ever the custom agent wants. Plus you need to make sure it is right hand drive if not get it done before it sails to Indian Soil.

The only port where it can come in is Mumbai.

Has to be your own car and should not be older than 5 years.

Unless you have something you made by your hands no car is worth it. You can buy decent cars in India now.

I tried - it is worthless.

Ask this question to Indian customs office. See if you can find them on Internet.

Last time it was no duty provided you have actually used the car for 6 month prior to shipping. But thing change from time to time so get it this info from the customs.

PS:
You may want to contact RtO, Regional Transport office. They have to licence the car and the driver, they may have some inspection requirements. Again see the info on Internet, or write to them.

You need to check for easy availability of the fuel, for your car, petrol is like gas but it is only 75 octane most places, 95 is available but may not be a common fuel, diesel is always there but you still need to check grade issues there also.
