I need a simple recipe for an appetizer or a dip that I can do in 10-15 minutes. Here's the catch...
I have to demonstrate how to make this in a classroom. I'll have no stove or microwave. I have to use all cold or canned ingredients.
I'd like to do something that I can serve with crackers or chips.
And remember, it has to take at least 10 minutes to prepare, because that's how long the demonstration has to be.
Thanks!

Oh, and I'll also have utensils with me to cut up foods. And I can bring along spices and what not.

Store bought chips and dip won't take 10-15 minutes to prepare.
I'm taking a speech class and we have to demonstrate to the class how to do something. I have to actually cut up vegetables or cut up slices of meat, etc. I have to show a class how to make it. I can't just throw chips and dip into bowls.

Some of you had some great answers, but a couple of you forgot that I won't be able to heat anything up because I'll be in a classroom with no stove or microwave. But thanks anyway!

This is simple and delicious and everybody wants more.
Buy: a bag of corn chips.. any brand will do
Two can's of hormel chili (must be a good brand) without beans
One 4 lb loaf of Velveeta cheese.
Bring: a big pot/pan large enough to be able to hold the cheee and chili
utensils:
a knife for cutting cheese up
a ladle or big spoon for scooping the melted dip stuff out
a large spoon, preferably with a flat nose for stirring
paper plates for serving.
paper napkins for neatness.
Open the cans of hormell chili and put it into the pan and start warming it while you open and chop up the cheese. Start putting the cheese in as you chop it up and stir frequently over med heat. You can talk about how easy this is that even men who need a snack for friends coming over to watch the big game on tv, can fix this. But is does work for showers because ladies like it too. And its a favorite for teenagers parties because its easy and makes enough for several big plates full of chips.
Tell how you can make it different by adding different things like a drained can of whole kernal corn.. or a little can of cut black ripe olives or a couple of fresh roma tomatoes cut in round slices. Put your chips on a couple plates and pour a scoop of this dip over the top. Good luck on your demonstration. If you chose to make something else, keep this recipe for your own get togethers.. I make mine in a crock pot (have to set it on high at first to get it to cheese melting temp). Its a favorite at all gatherings.

Canned salmon makes a good dip. Put some into a bowl and break it up with a fork. Then stir in mayonaise, lime juice, chopped onion, parsley, and anything else you can think of. You probably won't need to add salt, because it's already in canned salmon and mayo. Take your time, digress a lot, and the 15 minutes will go by.

You can make rice and teriyaki chicken. Just boil the rice (it takes about 10 minutes after the water boils to get good rice.) While the rice water is boiling, cut up boneless, skinless chicken breast into bite size pieces. Add the rice to the water, cover and take off the heat. While the rice is sitting, cook the chicken. In a lightly greased (olive oil or sesame oil) frying pan, add the chicken and whatever spices you like (I use garlic, salt and pepper). When the chicken is cooked all the way, take off the heat and add a teriyaki glaze. If you want to use veggies, add these when the chicken is almost done, then the glaze. You can buy this by the bottle at grocery stores. Just make sure to get the glaze/baste kind, it's the taste you'll want. Put the rice in bowls, then add the chicken on top.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aNDpB
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Chop some tomatoes. Place on crispbread or crackers. Then cover with thinkly cut slices of parma ham or salami / beef peperroni or other meat that you can get from the supermarket. Grate some cheddar cheese over it and lightly sprinkle chopped fresh oregano or parsely. Delicious and should make your quota of 10 minutes!!

You will need a green onion, some cream cheese, garlic powder, imitation crab meat and soft taco shells. Chop up your onion add to the cream cheese add a little garlic powder, mix all well and then spread on the shells roll it up and cut. I myself love these things. Make it at home before you do your class then you can add what suits you for your taste. Good Luck.
