Many dogs that have not been socialized will be afraid of anything different,,that is outside of their comfort zone..
If he has had his shots:
I would recommend getting him out and about as much as possible, in quiet places at first, and then gradually closer and closer to more people and noise..Expect this to take a month or more..You could join the kennel club, and go to the meet-ups with him..that way he would be exposed to many different people who understand dogs, and they will be of great help..Call your local pet shop to learn about the kennel club in your area..

Dogs sometimes have weird fears. I had a dog that was scared of cardboard tubes and cameras, and I swear she had never been hurt by either one!
He is still a very young puppy, so you should be able to build up his confidence. DON'T sympathize with his fear; this will only make him more scared (he'll think you're scared too!). Act cheerful and reassuring. Put him on a leash when people come (so he can't run away), and pet him and reassure him and maybe give him a treat. Loud noises are naturally startling to dogs as well as humans. If he reacts excessively, do the same.

Min Pins can be weird, but they have a great sense of humor. Find your dogs inner clown. Try toys, games, sports what ever makes your dog really have fun. Reinforce that behavior until he gets really good at. Then bring him around someone he is familiar with and get him to preform his little act. He will be more at ease and the person he is greeting with have a positive impression of him and the whole interaction will be great. Min Pins are drama kings, put him on stage, it will build his confidence.

Hi... This is Scott. Yeah it is normal. I have a female Min. Pin. She is awsome. If she hears a noise she goes nuts. She likes to cover her self under blankets. Little bull headed. She will look at me when I call her name. I think she is thinking... Should I go or not.?? LOL My Min. Pin. does NOT like strangers. Most likely she will warm up in about half hour. Well I hope that answered your question. Thanks, Scott

I agree with socialising your miniature pincer but, remember they are an apprehensive and protective breed a little on the nervous side.

Sounds like he may have been the runt.. the runt is usually a scarety cat or aggressive.

In your play with him and when he knows it is play... pick up the sound of your voice excitement level.. I have to do this to my dogs so when they are puppies I am clapping my hands loudly and yelling ya-hoo.. yeahhhh gooooood booooy... patting them while I am doing this.... my dogs have to become gun-shot proof... I also have to take them around busy traffic to desensitize them... I also purchased a CD that has all kinds of sounds on it and play that... starting on low and increasing the volume as the dogs become desensitized.

It is worth a try with your little baby.. also take him out in public around people.. socialize him... you will be glad you did.

They do not grow out of this... it is up to you to help him a little..

GOOD LUCK

Well, the only way to curb this fear, is to constantly expose your dog to loud noises. Slowly, yet, gently. When he is scared, ignore him/her. But, as time goes by, n he/she has gotten over the noise a lil, reward him/her wif their fav snack!

It sounds like symptoms of abuse.
I rescued a beagle a few years back who was like that, but he was abused.
Maybe a family member hurt/scared it.
Or if it had previous owners they could've abused it.
Dogs won't be scared of things unless we give them reason to be :/
