I have a friend, one time I was offended by her and now I'm staying away from her, is this the right thing to do?

In this case, I think it is safe to say that the right thing to do is ... whatever you want to do !

I would tell this friend that they offended you and why..Then if they do it again, THEN I would stay away..Give them a second chance, but only ONE

Maybe it was a mistake and she misspoke...let her know how you feel and go from there...
