and when i try and look up a design i get frustrated because they have these colorful huge tatoos.I wanted something small black ink.mybrother died and i really wanted either a butterfly or a cross.its hard to find something mannish for his sake but girly bcuz i have to wear it so please help,

How about getting both like a butterfly intertwined with a cross. I suggest going to a tattoo parlor and talk to the artist. They can usually give you some ideas of what they can do and help you come up with a design.

I'm sorry for your loss. Go to google and type 'butterfly tattoo". You should get nice pictures with a variation of sizes, designs and colors.

You can do it on a smaller scale with a cross down the middle. It can be made masculine by making it a tribal tattoo with nothing frilly added.

what about a heart with a ribbon running threw the heart and his name in the ribbon.on your back on the lower of the spine.at the waist.and a small butterfly. on top of the heart.i would like to have something like that for my sister who died at the age of 29.

most tattoo artist can shrink a tat down but it might cost more for detail, i doo sugggest that you get them both combined. a simple cross with a butterfly kinda over lapping it if you like you can email me and i can try to draw something up for you just let me know

how about searching a picture, print it out and take it with you and tell them what size you want ?
