There was a lot of the Israelis in Israel before 1948 however to hear many today there was never a country called Israel untill after May of 1948.
There has always been Jewish people living in Israel however throughout history there has NEVER been a country called Palestine.

The history of the Jewish people is a long one at best. Reading the bible (whether you believe it or not is irrelevant, it is still a great source of historical knowledge on the history of the race) you find that the Jewish people have been in that region for many thousands of years; even predating the Arab population that is there now.
Recent history (20th century) found them scattered throughout the world with the largest concentrations being in Europe, Eastern Russia, and the United States. While there was a great number of Jewish people who still lived in the land of Palestine ( a name derived from the Latin phrase land of the Philistines) their numbers did not equal those in Europe and elsewhere.
At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a call to gather and reform the Nation of Israel in the land that God (Jehovah) had promised them. This call went largely unheeded until Hitler kicked the movement of the Jewish people out of Europe into high gear. Once WW2 was over a great many Jews left Europe and moved either to the United States or to Russia (there is quite a large population of Jewish people still there today) but many did choose to go to Palestine and work to form the nation of Israel once again. ( I say once again, because in the mind of the Jewish people, the Nation of Israel never ceased to exist.)

It's been 59 years dude. I really don't think a entire country will just turn everything over to people living in refugee camps. Oh and suicide bombers and rocket attacks are such a good way to gain cooperation..........NOT!!!!!

diaspora i think is the correct term. I strongly support re-disasporization vs the current Zionist plan.
