I hadn't eaten breakfast for about 16 years but 5 weeks ago i started on a heathy eating crusade and forced myself to breakfast whether i was hungry or not. I now actually look forward to breakfast - my metabolism starts at 7.30 rather than at 11.30 am - i am no longer snacking all day and all night and dont crave sweet foods or drinks mid morning - for me breakfast is a revelation and far more improtant than any other meal through the day.

Not eating breakfast is in my opinion, one of the causes of weight problems. Leaving the house with an empty stomach and then trying to fill that hunger with snacks like crisps, chocolate and so forth. Yes it is a pain to eat breakfast sometimes but, it does set you up for the day healthwise, even if it is just an apple or banana or maybe some shreddies or best of all READY BREK !! YEAH BABY YEAH !! Sorry got carried away there.

I believe it is. If I do not get a chance to eat breakfast, it really affects my performance through out the day. I can't focus, I am sleepy, aggravated and disoriented. For some, missing the meal is the complete opposite. I guess it all depends on how well your body handles missed meals.

I think it is definitely the most important meal of the day. It gets your metabolism going which makes you burn more fat. Of course eating bacon and eggs every day isnt going to do you much good but sugar free cereal (preferably oats porridge) with skim/low fat milk and some fruit or fruit juice will set you up for the day.

According to the experts it is the most important meal of the day. Personally I can't remember a time when I ate before 11am. If I do, I feel lethargic and heavy for most of the day. I have tried sipping juice, cup of tea, a little yoghurt, toast, fruit, pretty much EVERYTHING and I still can't eat brekky. I even tried to force myself to eat brekky everyday for about 2 months and I felt awful. My body seems to function fine without it.

It is for me.
I wake up every morning thinking about the goodies I am going to have in just minutes!
It sets me up, gets me going, and starts my metabolism with a good rhythm. Plus, I have all day to burn breakfast, not so with dinner.

Yes I think the experts are right. Its the break of a fast, right? I do think its important not to have loads of food though. Stick to porrige or whole grain cereals like weetabix or shredded wheat. Fruit juice & if you suffer constipation 2tblsp linseed.

It should be, but most peole skip it these days and get a coffee at work.
Breakfast - Eat like a King
Lunch - Eat like Prince
Dinner - Eat like a pauper
is the old saying!
