i am not american, nor british.. i speak english everyday, but i do not understand why american like to use word 'shoot', please tell me why...

just a polite way to say sh** or shoot the breeze which means to have afriendly conversation

I've always taken it to be a word borrowed from Hollywood, where everyone gets ready to shoot a scene and then the film director calls: "Shoot!" In my experience, the context involves your interlocutor looking attentive and telling you to go ahead with what you have to say.

the same reason that the british say bloody.....but Americans say "shoot" becuz they dont want to say "s h i t" which is a curse word.....its a word that they say when something goes wrong or not their way basically
