One is typically concerning a faith, the other an inhabitant. However even older than that, an Israelite was one who was a descendant of Jacob's twelve sons (Jacob was also called Israel, so his descendants are Israelites). The name "Jew" came about after the death of David's son Solomon, when Israel was split in two following a civil war. The nation of Israel was in the north and descendants of Judah, one of the 12 sons of Jacob, were in the south. The north (Israel) was conquered by Assyria and thus the Israelites were called "Jews" after Judah in the south.

From a religious point of view I would say none. From a political view everything. To the Arab nations there is a huge difference. Yehudi is Jew is religion. Israeli is a turning religion into a nationality. You know historically the Jews never had a state of their own. The always existed within other political entities. They were just another religion. To the Arabs and not only this is an absurd notion. It is equivalent to claiming that all Christian Greek Orthodox are Greek. As an example: You are a Lebanese but then you can also be as Lebanese a number of Christian sects or Muslim sects or Jewish sects and you are still Lebanese.

To my way of understanding, and Israelite can be anybody born and raised in Israel, but is not necessarily a practicing Jew. Jew is someone raised in the Jewish religion.

An Israelite is a descendant of Yaakov (Jacob) whose name became Yisrayl. Jews are followers of the religion called Judaism and have no physical relation to Yisrayl (Israel). Around 85% of Jews today are children of Khazars from Khazaria. They are descendants of Togarmah and Ashkenaz (hence the title Ashkenazi Jew) whose fathers converted to Judaism in the 8th century. Some also believe the Sephardic Jews are Edomites who converted in the 2 century B.C.

While on the other hand, Yisraelites are those people who actually match up with the many prophecies in the scriptures concerning Yisrael. They are a cursed people because they forsook Yah's commandments and have yet to repent. As it is written:

Deu 28:46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

The children of Yaakov have a sign placed upon them which identifies them. To repeat, Jews are followers of a religion called Judaism, but Yisraelites are descendants of Yaakov.

Differences b/w Jews and Isrealites
Israelites followed the OT, Jews follow the Talmud and Kabbalah
Israelites trace descent from Father, Jews do it through Mother
Israelites are called Israelites, Jews are called Israelis
Israelites came out of Egypt, Jews came out of the Caucus Mountains.
Israelites crossed the red sea to inhabit Israel, Jews crossed the Black or Caspian sea.
Israelites are Semitic (descendants of Shem), most Jews are Japhetic (descendants of Japheth).
Israelites where taken as captives (slaves) into all nations, Jews migrated into the nations they reside in.
Israelites were prophesied to be exiled until they returned to the Law of Yah, Jews inhabit Israel without any repentance.
Most importantly, Israelites fulfill all of the prophecies concerning them (all of the curses and blessings), Jews don't match up with the prophecies concerning Jacob's seed.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop here with Rev 2:9 & 3:9...

Wonders why so many don't realize you are not talking about Israelis... Or citizens of present day Israel.

an israelite (in the Bible) was the first name given to the children of Israel. A jew was the term given to them in the time of Jesus.

These days Israelite defines that a person is from, but not necessarily their religion ie. there might be a catholic from israel. But Jew generally refers to their religion

I am not sure but, I do know that Jewish-American's are totally different from Israeli's...in the religion department!
A parent that I had met, years back...she told me that Jews in America were more into the Money thingy...and rich and more haughtier...than the Israeli's...The Israeli's are the type of people who would love you, and take care of you...and bond with you right away, and treat you like family....they wouldn't turn you "out" and leave you to feel sorry for yourself...and or unwelcome.

(I am a Jewish-American, but, not raised that way..).but I will say, that some of the Jewish-American adults that I have met,,,are the rudest people that I have had the most displeasure of ever meeting...honestly! and most of them....in America are pretty good people....just some...need to take the "common curtesy classes!!!!!!!!!!!" I kid you not!!
They are "Stuck up, hoity-toity, arrogant...conceited..." and quite frankly....I am rather ashamed that they would call themselves "Jewish American's" they have absolutely NO CLASS, at all!!!! The Israeli's that I have met...and known....very good solid people...warm and lovely..kind and caring...great ,great people! I would go and visit and or live with them in a heart beat!!!!!
