Basically, I need to know is it possible to make a startup CD-ROM without the install disk. All of my Windows software is legal for the record. I know that Microsoft has bootable download but they are only for floppy disks. Thanks in advance.

Well, how could I back up the hard drive without being able to access anything within XP? The Hard Drive is in a laptop so I doubt I could transfer it to my PC. Also, is FDisk something I can download?

Well, I've figured out that fdisk is a command to format your drive but I can't access DOS Prompt or Safe Mode or anything except the BIOS

If you are getting a Disk Read Error, then a startup CDrom will not do much for you.

A disk read error is usually a hardware issue, often times from corrupt Master boot records. In that case you are going to want to use Fdisk and create a new MBR. It might just solve the problem. Keep in mind that you will lose all your data when you do this, so do a back up first.
