Ordinarily you just right click and it gives you that option, but *sigh* it's not giving me that option. Is there another way I can do it?

try this. go to start>all programs, then click and drag the media player start icon into the top left of the start menu, right under your internet explorer (or firefox) icon. viola!

go to the start menue and go to the media player right click click on send to then click on desktop that will put a shortcut to media player on your desktop

Find it on Start Menu, Right Click-Send To- Desktop (Create a Short Cut) should do same when its already on desktop

The easiest way is to go to Start, find Media player click and drag it to your desktop

simple.
go to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player here u will get wmplayer.exe. right click at it and then on send to and then on desktop( create shortcut ). close all windows and look at desktop, u will get windows media player in single click

right click on it where it is now and click copy and paste on the desktop.
