Sure you just go through the US Embassy or Consulate in Canada. They are in Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver. The wait time is 30 days, depending on how busy the location is.

You can start at this website.

Sadly, in this day and age of terrorism, travel has just been made hard for Americans and even harder for foreigners. as a result it is best to have ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS in hand BEFORE you come to Canada or America. it's called "planning for the worst and hoping for the best".
you can contact the US embassy in Lima for the necessary paperwork, but DO NOT WAIT till you get to Canada, because of the new regulations passed last month stating that even Ameri-cans must have passports to leave the US (ie, visit Peru and even, Canada or Mexico).
Yellowstone is one of the most spectacular and oldest parksin the US. it is, also, one of the most crowded in summer time, so expect delays. if you can go before June 1st (lots of flowers) or after after August 31st (much warmer weather), you will be able to visit more and enjoy it longer.
Don't forget to visit Jackson Hole and Grand Teton NP while in the Yellowstone area.
