of course it is OK. There is a video game out right now based on the Left Behind Series that is endorsed by Christians EVERYWHERE that involves KILLING non believers. Is it a sin? Of course not. Is it normal to take pleasure in killing people (in a video game) that will not convert to your faith? NO F'N WAY!!!!

Well, can't you already take on alter egos in online games and do despicable things you'd never do in real life? Are those sins?
How about Sim games where you play the role of god to the Sims?
As the lines blur between human and computer intelligence, it should continue to become more of an issue. You can count on one thing... artificial intelligence won't be created by IBM, Microsoft, or the government. It will be created by the people who push the computing envelope the most - gamers. Some day, a character in an online game is going to get "smart", and when that day comes, we're going to have the biggest moral dilemma our species and planet has ever faced. What happens when we create life?

An easy way to tell if something is a sin.... If God flat out says it's a sin, it's a sin.. However, His word also says that if it feels like a sin to you, it's a sin.

The act of "sinning", is not necessarily related to the certain act of sin. The bible teaches that God looks at your heart as well as what your actions are. If I cheat on my wife with a virtual girl, as far as the law is concerned, I have not committed adultery. But God looks at the heart, your heart has committed adultery.
Remember, "if a man look upon another woman to lust after her, he has committed adultery with her already in her heart". I'm not sure which exact verse that is.

That's an iffy situation at best. Lust is always a sin, if it causes you to lust its a sin. Sin is never OK, but sin can be forgiven.

If the thought of is it a sin is in your mind, yes. Just lusting for " Whatever" is sinful

it depends on how much control a person has in such virtual reality.
Jesus will not condemn a person who is controled beyond his own personal ability to say NO. if a person says NO! that is final, if other people take advantage after that, IT is their sin.
jesus said depart from me I NEVER knew you.

The Bible says if you think it, you've done it. So yep. The point is, that we all sin all the time.
