If that were to happen, you should quote scripture! When Jesus was faced and tempted for 40 days by Satan, that's exactly what he did was quoted God's word to Him. That kept him pure and free from sin, because it kept His mind on that of God and didn't let Him fall into the temptation of Satan.
However, you must remember that you would not know it was Satan. Satan appears as man, just as Jesus does. He would look like you and me. But He is very vigilant and tricky, so you should be on guard at all time and always keep yourself armed with God's word so that you do not fall into the traps of the devil.

As a young man, I would have thought I could outwit the devil, so I probably would have invited him in for tea. That's why so many young men have a way of dying, ruining their lives, or worse. Now, that I am older, I know better than to tempt fate: I would not answer the door...though I might tell him to try my neighbor's house(I don't care for them much.). Satan is just a metaphor for the risky choice, the temptation to gain that which you do not have for a reason, or even blind ambition without regard for the consequences to self and others.

I'd invite him in for coffee. After all, how often would you get the chance to have a discussion with the supposed cause of all evil on the planet?
Then we'd go out on the town and annoy the fundies.

I'm pretty sure I've met the devil before. He's each and every one of my ex friends or ex boyfriends. I suppose I'd strike up a friendship with him, fall madly in love with him and then wonder why he screwed me over. lol Nah..I'm a better judge of character now so I wouldn't be too upset. I'd probably roll my eyes and go back to watching my Golden Girls dvds. Not much freaks me out anymore. The devil isn't ultimate evil by the way, that goes to humans.

Pretend.....okay....
Well, I would of course invite him in...we'd have alot to chat about as we have much in common. We've both been blamed for everything that has ever gone wrong in our families, we both know what it feels like to be condemned for simply seeing a better way to do things, we both love apples, we both face an eternity without god, we are both hotties.....LMAO!
After chatting for awhile over apple crumb cake and tea....I'm sure that I would feel compelled to invite him to stay for dinner.

I would invite Satan in and introduce him to Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. Then we'd all discuss how to take Jesus out of the Pagan Winter holidays.
God, the Ultimate Evil, drowner and slaughterer of millions, does not exist, and therefore, could not knock on my door.

Invite him in, and explain to him that Jesus is all around and he can except him in his heart, he can run back out the door scarred to death or stay for dinner, eat my cooking and die from the taste.

Satan is synonymous with "temptation towards selfishness"
selfishness is the root of evil.... there is no conscious entity out to tempt you to hurt others for your own gain,,,,,
so if satan came to my door,,,,i would close the door.....except when i am broke then he can come in and show me how to steal.....I am just like most americans i guess,,,,,,
