Study to show yourself approved ......... Study or dont make false statements ! First of all, JESUS is humble, thats why in moderation, HE wouldnt be against jewelry which doesnt harm, alter or defile the temple (body). Second, JESUS is no longer on the cross ... so 'just' the cross is a true and proper symbol. Just dont get a dinky, cheap cross .... remember, you represent 'The KING'. The humbleness that JESUS walked the earth with wasnt a statement nor indication that Christians are in order to be or appear to be poor. HE did it to prove that the lowliest of persons can do greater works than HE.did. (1 Tim 2:9 is a statement Paul made to a body of people for specific reasons.) (SSSSSSSSSSSTTUDY !!!!!!!!!!, i.e. compare 1 Tim 2:9 to Exodus 28)

Ok with me
Christianity definitely has some "do's" and "don't", but not nearly as many as people think.
Ten come to mind.
Jesus boiled it down to two:
1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
People with questions about "mixing two kinds of fabric" and the like are probably thinking that these rules are still in effect ... they were given to the Jews and were done away with because of the new convenant in the death of Jesus Christ.
Some general guidelines:
* Does God specifically prohibit the practice in question? One of the main criticisms that Jesus had of the religious leaders of His time is that they had added laws to those given to Moses.
* Is your intent to honor or mock God?
* Have you prayed about it?
* Seek godly counsel. What is the practice of people who seem well informed and sincere in their faith?
However, I would advise against a crucifix with an image of Jesus on it .... primarily because He is no longer on the cross.
He is risen ... .He is risen indeed.

I think many do perform a kind of idol worship to the crosses and saints. But for many, I think it's purely a symbol of their faith and no harm in it.
For me personally, I do not wear a cross. To me, if the Savior had been born today and shot with a gun instead of hung on the cross, would I wear a gun around my neck? The cross was the instrument of his death, and I do not wish to celebrate it.
As for any jewelry. The Lord loves beautiful things and I don't think he minds if we wear jewelry in moderation. But if you are spending the majority of your paychecks to hang huge, gaudy jewelry from your body, that isnt' good. That's being prideful. That's worshipping your money more than your Lord.

It is all a personally choice, if you're going to worship gold it is wrong, if you want to be humble like Christ, then be humble. Christ didn't even have a home to himself, it is believe he only had the clothes on his back, talk about humble. But it 's all up to you.

If it were idolatry making any graven image or obtaining any graven image would be idolatry. Having a picture on the wall is considered idolatry by muslims who also interpret the passage wrong. Idolatry is worship the image not have a image. God command isrealites to make graven images many times in exodus.

Let me guess, you're one of those types who wear those huge gawdy crosses? ;-) I don't see how wearing a necklace would be a form of idol worship.
You don't act much like your Jesus anyways, so I don't see why you are so worried.

It not an idol it's a symbol, it is ok. If Jesus is on the cross, I wouldn't wear it though. He is not on the cross anymore and that is a disgrace to him if you wear one with him on it.

well---I'm not sure if your male or female--but if your female you must NEVER wear jewelery Paul--who Christians think carried the same authority as Jesus strictly forbids any Christian woman from wearing jewelery --or curling their hair--or walking around without a veil covering their head--so--if you don't want to go to hell--you better obey Paul.!!
