There are several options:

Khaverut [חברות]- kha-ve-rUt ("kh" is pronounced as "ch" in the Scottish "loch")
The neutral term for friendship.

Yedidut [ידידות]- ye-di-dUt
A less deep friendship than "khaverut". Often describes good relations.

Re'ut [רעות]- re-Ut
Re'ut is a deap friendship, often said in the context of childoohd friends, or comradeship.

Hebrew Word For Friendship

Ok. I am Jewish so I use the Torah in its original Hebrew. David and Jonathan had a close friendship. No where does it say they were gay or even hint at such a thing. Samuel 18:3-4 simply shows they were good friends and he gave his friend his gifts that meant the most to him. I see nothing homosexual about that passage. Samuel 20:41 simply describes that Jonathan is happy to see him. Kissing is still a Middle Eastern custom. It does not say "he slipped him the tongue and wed him" It say he kissed him. I see nothing homosexual about that passage. Ruth 1:16-17 talks aboutRuth'ss desire to follow the people of Israel and to do anything she had to follow Israel. I don;t know what translation you are using but I am using it in the original Hebrew and I can assure you, it is not talking about lesbians or homosexuality in the passages you listed.
